Task Manager Tab
The Task Manager tab is the third tab on the eChart home screen. Task Manager tracks and assigns incomplete workflow and orders tasks to the appropriate user. Tasks are generated during the HST eChart nightly jobs. The system evaluates each workflow for completeness and assigns tasks based on the criteria listed below. When a chart has been declared complete and closed, any tasks in Task Manager will be resolved.
Incomplete Workflow tasks are assigned based on the following criteria:
Pre-op Communications - If the chart is open and not complete, the workflow is active and incomplete, the DOS is tomorrow, today, or within the past 90 days, and some documentation was done then the task is assigned to the user with the most entries in the audit log. If no documentation was done, then the task is assigned to a Task Administrator.
Post-op Communications: If the chart is open and not complete, the workflow is active and incomplete, the DOS is between 1 to 90 days in the past, and some documentation was done then the task is assigned to the user with the most entries in the audit log. If no documentation was done, then the task is assigned to a Task Administrator.
Pre-op: The same as Post-op Communications.
Intra-op: The same as Post-op Communications
PACU: The same as Post-op Communications
Post-op: The same as Post-op Communications
Anesthesia: If the chart is open and not complete, the workflow is active and incomplete, the DOS is between 1 to 90 days in the past, and the Anesthesia Provider and/or Supervising Anesthesia Provider have been documented, then the task will be assigned to the Anesthesia Provider and Supervising Anesthesia Provider. If no Anesthesia Provider or Supervising Anesthesia Provider has been documented, then the task will be assigned to a Task Administrator.
Physician: If the chart is open and not complete, the workflow is active and incomplete, the DOS is between 1 to 90 days in the past, and the workflow contains either (1) an incomplete BLOC other than Consent BLOC 105 or Lab/Path Review BLOCs 087/135, (2) a Consent BLOC that lack a physician signature, or (3) an incomplete Lab/Path Review BLOC with no missing results, then the task is assigned to the primary physician of the primary procedure.
Unsigned Orders Tasks, which only apply to physicians, are assigned based on the following criteria:
If the chart is open and not complete, the physician workflow is active, incomplete, contains a Physician Orders BLOC that is incomplete, and the DOS is up to 5 days in the future, then the unsigned orders task is assigned to the primary physician of the primary procedure.
Peer Review Tasks are not generated nightly, instead they are created by a Task Administrator. These tasks are ignored by the nightly task generation and validation logic.
Note: The incomplete orders tasks which are generated prior to the date of stay can be turned on or off in User Preferences. This preference is only visible to physicians.
